The way to Heaven

An interpretation of the music video below:

We are the girl on this shore.

God is the boy on the further shore.

There is a chasm between us.

Here we sit attempting to "arrange our lives" (the stones), when our eyes are drawn to that further shore.

We catch sight of God.

God sees our pre-occupation with stones and uses them to communicate with us.

God sends a message across (tied to a stone). Though the message draws us, it is not all sunshine and lollipops.

A union is indicated, will God come to our shore, or will we be taken to the other side?

Messages tied to stones cannot be "unpacked" with "mittens" on.

God calls us "upstream", while we look up to God on high.

There comes a time when "gazing on that further shore" is no longer enough to satisfy us. A belief in a "proofed"/ theoretical God no longer satisfies, we must "taste and see that the Lord is good".

The river chasm in between is daunting, and we know we cannot cross, we expect God to cross and be with us on "this shore"- it is the only thinkable, and self-preserving, option.

At a point in the river that is bearable and accessible to us in our weakness, God beckons us to join him in the current.

We hesitate.

It becomes clear that the dryness our fashionable rubber boots provide isn't the answer.

God enters the river, and though frightened, we feel compelled to join God in the river.

We do not know what our fate will be by entering that river, but we must enter and be swept away with God.

We put the "rock" of God in the center of all our life "arrangements".
